Jo started her working life as an English teacher, but found the creativity sadly lacking. Acceptance by the AFA training scheme changed her career and her life.
Copywriting was a natural fit that grew into a lifelong passion. Cutting her teeth on retail, healthcare and corporate brands, Jo found a style that fed seamlessly into fashion and lifestyle. At Clemenger Direct she was promoted to Creative Director in charge of the Myer Direct account.
In 1999 she founded Working Girls with partner Elizabeth Wilmott and together they built a successful agency focusing on female brands.
Elizabeth has a great eye: for what makes an arresting image, what makes a memorable ad and what makes a real difference.
She has been creating award-winning work for 25 years on a wide variety of clients including Myer, Mars, Uncle Bens, Mobil, Lincraft and Heinz. Eventually her experience and appetite for doing it differently, led her to start her own business.
With Jo Talbot they seized an opportunity to beat the big guys at their own game and offer clients better value for money. Today with GIRL Elizabeth particularly enjoys spotting and nurturing great young talent.
